We provide life-changing music-making to young people nationwide.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running the Osterley Park Winter 10k to raise funds for Alice's Youth Music Memorial Fund, which supports the work of national charity Youth Music.

Many of you will recall reading about missing teenager Alice Gross from Hanwell last year and the subsequent awful discovery of her murder. Alice was a talented songwriter, singer and musician. Her parents established Alice's Youth Music Memorial Fund to leave a lasting legacy of music-making in her memory.

The Fund supports the National Foundation for Youth Music, which provides life-transforming music-making opportunities for young people facing significant challenges in their lives. These include  disability, poverty, special educational needs, mental health issues, refugee status and living in care.  Every year, Youth Music helps 75,000 children and young people through the 350 projects it supports around the country.

Alice's Youth Music Memorial Fund has so far raised £52,000 for Youth Music but Alice's mother Ros Hodgkiss has set her fundraising target at £100,000 and I'd like to help her achieve this in my own small way. Perhaps you might be kind enough to help Ros too.

Anything you give will be helping Youth Music to transform the lives of vulnerable children and teenagers, through music.  Read some of the stories about how Youth Music has changed young people at http://www.youthmusic.org.uk/our-impact.html

Many thanks.

We believe that every young person should have the chance to change their life through music. Yet our research shows that many can’t. Our insights, influence and investment in grassroots organisations and to young people means that more 0–25-year-olds can make, learn and earn in music.
