Alison’s mum, Joan, died of MS in 1993. During the few years I knew Joan she always had a smile on her face and never complained about the incredible pain and discomfort she must have been experiencing. She had been diagnosed at the age of just 21 and died at the age of 49, just 6 months before her first grandson Joshua was born.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too. Roughly three times as many women have MS as men. So many people are affected and yet still no one knows the exact cause of the disease.
I would like to help research into this horrific illness so please give what you can in the memory of Joan.
