Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.As some of you know i will be Running (walking and crawling no doubt lol)in the New York Marathon on the 4th of November. I will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and running in my sister Fiona Grant (Macfadyen) memory who sadly passed away last July after a long battle with cancer which she fought with bravery, humour and dignity. Why the New York Marathon? It was Fionas favorite place to visit and i wanted to do something that would be a challenge and friends& family would appriciate the effort and enable them to make a donation. As of March 2012 i had not run since I left School In 1977, so ive had to lose some weight (ok alot)!and train 4-5 days a week in all weathers. As of September 2012 my mileage is up to 13 miles which will now increase steadily until i can run the full 26.3miles so i am well on target for November.Macmillan do a great job and I hope you can make a donation help me reach my target. As you probably know the 2012 NY Marathon was cancelled i have now secured an entry for the 2013 Marathon and i have started training for the race in November 3rd 2013 hopefully it wont be so hard second tim around
Thank You
David Macfadyen
