Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I can confirm an exciting new scientific theory - gravity is getting stronger.  This is the only plausible explanation for the fact that my times are getting slower and I am grimacing more, despite the fact that I am making more effort.  I delayed my sponsorship page as I thought that injuries would intervene, but I spent last week at a low altitude training camp, aka 'my holiday' and managed 40 miles.  This was greatly assisted by a new training partner (see photo) who does much to lift the spirit, although she occasionally trips me up.  Her name is Maddy and she is 6 months old.  Eliza (middle daughter), Adam (son-in-law) and Rolo (Hannah's choco lab) also spurred me along at various times.

This is my 8th GNR, I think, and I am aiming for 1 hour 40 minutes, running with my friend Chris Wright (who does not trip me up or veer off for a rabbit scamper).  As before I am running for the brilliant charity Jubilee Debt Relief Campaign/Make Poverty History, which does so much to get richer countries to write off crippling debts for poorer countries and fights the 'vulture' companies in the courts, which seek to buy up exploit the debt.  As usual I will self-sponsor 50p for every £1.00 that you donate and this money will be split between East African Famine Relief  and rather forgotten Pakistan Flood Relief Appeal - the affected areas are still struggling to recover.
