Story
I am taking part in Club Peloton's The 1500 https://clubpeloton.org/news/387777 to raise money for Coram, Club Peloton's main charity beneficiary, which receives 60% of grants. Club Peloton's other charity beneficiaries, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, MSA Trust and Tom's Trust, will also receive a proportion of fundraising.
My challenge is in two parts – inside and out.
We completed the first half – our 48hr Relay / 1500 kms challenge with Club Peloton between the 19th and 21st March We didn’t go anywhere other than our spare rooms, kitchens and sheds and there were no celebratory drinks that anyone admitted to. My team of three managed 1,880km in the 48hrs and were blown away by everyone's commitment help each other through it. Definitely needed at 3am when you are halfway through a 4 hour ride.
After that warm up inside, the main event. I will be riding around England (and a bit of Wales) when the restrictions loosen in late May - 1,500km in 7 days. Wearing my Revo hat (helmet) I will be conducting the longest self propelled study tour in history visiting retail centres coming out of lockdown in London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool. Cardiff, Bristol and many more on the way! No big peloton but hopefully with welcome guests keeping me company along the route.
The charities that we raise money for have been heavily impacted by COVID 19, which has cut off many of their usual sources of fundraising. Any support that you can provide will be gratefully received. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
