In loving memory of David Chelliah Jayarajah (4th April 1936 - 12th December 2022). 

We would like to share our heartfelt thanks to everyone.

Over the last week, we have been blessed and overwhelmed with visits, calls, messages and exchanges of hugs, all in David’s honour. A true testament to the wonderful husband, dad, father-in-law, brother, grandad, uncle and friend he was.

David passed away peacefully after a short illness on Monday night, 12th December in Croydon University Hospital surrounded by some of his closest relatives. He lived an extremely fruitful life that was truly dedicated to helping others. He was an incredibly kind and loving soul. He has touched so many lives in so many ways and the legacy he has left for his family will be felt by many generations to come. 

We have chosen to support All We Can in David’s honour which is a charity close to David’s heart. It is an international development and relief organisation rooted in the Methodist faith, focussed on helping the world’s most marginalised communities, including the Tamil community in Sri Lanka. 

There will be a collection plate at the church if people wish to donate at the service.
