Story
- For anyone that knows me they will know that Health and Fitness is a massive part of my life, in fact, besides my God and my loved ones, it is the largest part. Not only am I a Personal Trainer at Bluecoat Sports but I also spend a large chunk of my personal time training in calisthenics - which simply means a blend of gymnastics and body weight training. My aim when I started training in calisthenics was to build strength and learn to control my body to new extremes. Being a Personal Trainer also means that I love to see others progress and achieve, and if I could inspire others through my training, then this would be a bonus!
For anyone that has heard of me, but has not seen me, you may not know that I also have enough body hair to make a small carpet. Whilst training hard can bring me the physique I desire, unfortunately, no matter how much I exercise, my hair does not fall off!
The idea of waxing all started with a conversation with one of the Club’s Assistant Managers. After expressing the idea of waxing, in order to find out what I would really look like without my much loved body hair, Paul’s face lit up, apparently this would be a comedy scene?!
After looking into the idea, and finding out that I could in fact do this ridiculous act for charity, my mind was made up!
I researched different charities and looked to my God for help in which charity to choose. As if by fate, that evening I inducted a lady into the gym who was a trustee of the COCO Foundation Charity, her name was Deborah Spragett. Deborah explained that this amazing charity help clothe, feed and provide professional emotional support to the children of KwaZulu Natal region and Port Elizabeth in Africa. Set up just two years ago by West Sussex businessman Chris Connors, The Foundation is funded entirely by donations and every penny goes to one of The Foundation's main projects – I had to help!
eing from Zimbabwe myself, Africa is very close to my heart. I believe that the work the COCO Foundation are doing really is giving children a greater chance at life, and raising money to help these children will make me incredibly happy.
