Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, I am running the Paris Marathon on April 6th 2014 (stop laughing!) and am hoping to raise some money for Cancer Research UK along the way. The training runs are getting colder and darker and it would be great if you could spare a few quid, for a great cause, to keep me going. Having done little in the way of strenuous exercise over the last few years, I am going to need all the help I can get!
I chose to raise funds for Cancer Research UK as the work they do is so valuable in finding new ways to diagnose and treat cancer. With cancer affecting so many people both young and old, the work they do is increasingly vital in saving lives. I also wanted to do this to show support for people who are fighting or have beaten cancer and in memory of those who have lost that battle. Pretty cheesy but also really important, as it stands, more than 1 in 3 people will develop some sort of cancer in their lifetime - a really scary statistic.
I will post some updates of how I am getting on with the training etc on Facebook so you can have a giggle and/or get annoyed at another one of those people who posts 'activities' on their wall that people don’t care about. Either way, please sponsor me!
