Story
My Dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma back in 2018 which is a type of cancer that develops in the lining that covers the outer surface of some of the body's organs, it's usually linked to asbestos exposure. After a long battle with the illness he sadly passed away in July 2020. In a lot of cases the exposure could of been years or even decades ago so the prognosis is sadly normally not good, the life expectancy is around 12-21 months.
More than 2,600 people are diagnosed with the condition each year in the UK. HASAG is a charity dedicated to helping people suffering from asbestos-related diseases and their families throughout the South of England, South East, London and Home Counties. Providing a complete source of help and support for anyone with an asbestos-related disease and their loved ones.
HASAG were amazing in supporting my family through very difficult times and putting us in contact with people that truly understood the condition and preparing us for what was coming. They are a small charity so don't get government funding so anything we can do will help them to continue with there great work.
As a close group of Friends and to say thank you for the remarkable support HASAG gave me and my family we wanted to work together to give something back so we will be running a 10mile Tough Mudder on September 18th. Hopefully by reading this link you now know more about them and if you do have anything you can donate to support HASAG we would be grateful.
