Great South Run Oct 24th 2010
Fundraising for APS Support UK
Hi !
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the 'Great South Run' on Oct 24th for Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) or as its often called Hughes Syndrome.APS is a medical condition in which there is a tendency for the blood to clot, particularly in younger people. The disease can cause headaches and migraines, memory loss, dizziness, strokes, heart attacks, blood clots in the arms/legs (DVTs) and lungs (PE's) - all of which are potentially fatal. It is also a leading cause of recurrent miscarriage and other serious pregnancy problems. Originally thought to be rare, evidence is now indicating that Hughes Syndrome is fairly common affecting up to 4% of the population. My wife has this condition and at 32 has already had blood clots on her lungs , a stroke, and more recently surgery due to pregnancy problems. So please dig deep and help me raise as much money as possible for this cause and help fund the research that is continually on-going and much needed.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.Thankyou so much in advanceDave* Charities pay a small fee for our service.
