Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2018 our lovely daughter went in hospital for an appendix operation and ended up dying from Sepsis. As you can imagine, we are totally heartbroken and struggling to understand why this has happened. We didn't know what Sepsis was and if we did Chloe would still be alive. Chloe was only 20! She was lovely and only ever thought of others. Please give generously so we can raise money for The Sepsis Trust so no other innocent person dies. The Sepsis Trust visits schools, doctors and hospitals to educate and raise awareness of this problem so hopefully another young person doesn't lose their life and another family doesn't have to live the nightmare we are going through.
We started my fundraising by doing a sponsored walk on Christmas day (2018) where Dave was joined by friends and family on the 30 mile walk from the hospital to our home. It took twelve and a half hours but we managed it (and have the blisters to prove). We have continued with the fundraising and with thanks from friends the charity will keep receiving the funds needed to ensure this doesn't happen again. We had an auction of promises where many people gave generously and we raised over £20,000 on the night (special thanks to St Michael's hotel and David Lay auctions. We are now looking at other challenges. Please donate and help us save lives. xx
Friends are also raising funds in Chloe's memory. James Green, Jo Lay, Caitlin Hill, Rosie Gibbs and Jamie & Sam are all running in either a marathon or half marathon. Thank you to all.
