Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page raising much needing funds for the Force Cancer Charity.
A message from Dave:
"Many of you may know I had a course of radiotherapy cancer treatment last summer at the RD&E Hospital, Exeter. This treatment has so far proved successful and hopefully, ongoing checks will continue to confirm this. During the treatment I had great support from this charity and the Cancer Support Centre they run at the Hospital.
The course of treatment finished last July, but it does leave energy levels surprisingly depleted for a long time after. I have been cycling to help build up my energy levels again.
As a way of giving back to this great charity and to give me a personal challenge to aim for, I entered the 100 mile Force Century Cycle Challenge and joined by my son, Joe. To find out more about the event and the charity please follow the links on the left of the page.
We successfully completed the 100 miles last Sunday (26 June), along with over 1000 others. It was a fairly tough ride on a very hot day. There was a wind to take the edge off the temp but it was often a headwind so added to the effort! Thankfully the training paid off, especially dealing with the Exmoor hills as well as we did. Very pleased with that.
We've set ourselves quite a high target and we're nearly half way so please keep supporting us and the charity by donating on this page."
