We help families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them

Story

On Friday 23rd September a team of 6 guys of varying fitness, me being the least, will be carrying a 80kg assault Bike to the top of Mount Snowdon on our shoulders.

Once at the summit we will be churning out 1200 calories on this horrendous piece of gym equipment and then carrying the thing back down.

However, we aren't going to do this 'just because'. Yes, of course it will be a challenge, absolutley no doubt about it & we are as keen as mustard to find out if we have what it takes but we are taking this as an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the charities that have supported & looked after those we care about.

In September 2020 my colleague Tara and her family had their life turned upside down when their 6 month old daughter Amber was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

The strength this little warrior has shown throughout her illness (not to mention that of her mum, dad and brother) has been nothing short of mesmeric, and compared to what this little girl has faced this should be a doddle.

After an agonising wait for a suitable donor, who was eventually found in Canada, Amber received a Stem Cell Transplant which has given her a second chance. This doesn’t mean everything is immediately rosy, she has undergone extreme chemo, a endured one of the most complex operations that exist.

This September marks 2 years since Amber’s diagnosis and what better way to raise some money for an amazing charity.

Young Lives VS Cancer provides unbelievable support to children like Amber and their families, and this is the charity I would like to raise some money for.

If we can carry a thousandth of Amber’s strength up this mountain we will walk it- well we are walking it anyway but you know what I mean!

Others within the team also have their own personal reasons for taking on the challenge & links to the fundraising pages for their chosen charities can be found on this page. Please check their pages out & give whatever you can!

Training begins now & it's going to be tough! We can't wait to get started. We will upload pictures & video clips throughout so you can check back in & keep up to speed with our preparations.

Thank you for your support.
