Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On July 8th I will be joining a team of 40 cyclists who are taking part in the Hiscox Tourmalet Challenge. We are heading to the Pyrenees mountains of southern France where we will be cycling Stage 8 of the 2016 Tour de France the day before the professionals. The 147km leg includes 4 punishing mountain climbs featuring the iconic Col Du Tourmalet, a 19km climb with a fearsome gradient! Until 3 months ago I had never even ridden a road bike! In my teens I was a keen mountain biker but this is a whole new challenge. I've certainly had to shake of my sedentary lifestyle and hit the local roads and hills in a bid to give myself a fighting chance of success.
I am cycling in aid of Cancer Research, a charity that has made an immeasurable contribution to advances in cancer treatment. Cancer has had a direct impact on my life and of the lives of those closest to me. So many families have been affected by this terrible disease and I hope you will give generously to such a worthwhile cause.
