Story
Dear All
On Saturday 17th May I will be attempting IronMan Lanzarote. That is a 2.4M swim, a 112M cycle and a 26.2M run - all to be completed in 17 hours rather than over the course of a week! Some of you may doubt whether I have the ability and/or strength to complete it. I confess I am not so sure myself but there is only one way to find out, albeit a rather brutal way!
An IronMan event is a real challenge. However, it is nothing compared to the challenges and difficulties faced by those affected by life-limiting illness, both individuals and their families. That is why the work of the East Cheshire Hospice is so important. The hospice provides a haven of care and calm for the communities of Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Poynton, Wilmslow and everywhere in between. It is dependent upon donations and fundraising for the brilliant work it does to help people through the toughest of times. It is for that reason I am hoping to raise money for the hospice.
The hospice's motto is "Making every day count". Hopefully I can make Saturday 17th May count and raise some money to help the hospice to support another individual and their family.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I really hope you are able to make a donation. If you want to make it dependent on me finishing the course within the 17 hour cut-off then feel free to do so - the more pressure the better!!!!
Thanks again,
Darryl
