Story

The great Knaresborough bed race 2012 consists of 90 teams who decorate there beds according to the annual theme. This years theme is olympic nations and our country is Venezuela. The bed and the team will be dressed as something from this country. The team is as follows Darren Ramsbottom, Ian Ramsbottom, Mark Robinson , Andy Lee, Neil Foxcroft and Allan Foxcroft and Kirsty Young is the passenger. The bed then takes part in the parade. The bed is then stripped of the decorations and then pushed by the team around the streets and across the river. We have chosen the tree of hope after they were recomended to us. We hope the money raised will help a little girl called Grace to receive the much needed care she needs. Grace has severe cerebral palsy, chronic lung disease and beckwith wiedmanns syndrome. Grace benefits from visits to the footsteps foundation in oxford where she has intense three week physio programme to complement her regular osteopathy treatment.Unfortunately all of this comes at a cost. A three week visit to oxford along with accommadation twice a year costs £9000.00 in addition to her osteopathy which costs £2000.00 per year. In the future it is hoped grace will be selected to travel to the usa for sdr treatment which may help Grace to walk. This trip would cost approximately £70,000.00 so much fundraising support is needed as possible.
