Story
In 2008 I learned of young Jack Brown, the son of colleagues, who had been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma - a rare childhood cancer. Jack was eligible for trial treatment in New York that needed funding and a friend and colleague of mine had set up an event to help.
In 2008 I ran my first half marathon in NYC with 80 other British coppers to raise funds for Jack. In fact we aimed to run two 18 mile runs in two days! I didnt manage 18 miles each day but hit the half marathon mark.
Since then, my friend Taff has arranged this event every year to raise money for children needing pioneering treatment. The event has gone from strength to strength seeing around 100 UK coppers from many forces run a half marathon in uniform around Central Park to raise money for Jack's Pack - Police Against Cancer in Kids. (All self funded).
The last time I participated was 2011 and since then my own father passed away due to Cancer. This is a horrible disease that affects so many but should never be a worry for a child. Please help me raise money towards funding treatment and research to hopefully eradicate this horrible disease.
