Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis Society
I took up running shortly after my Grandad died in 2011. It was tough watching him slip away, and i felt i owed it to myself and my own family that i could be as healthy as i can in my life for as long as possible. I lost more than 4 stone in the months that followed and applied for the 2012 marathon.
Despite not getting in that time, my desire to run this great race never waned and i was lucky enough to help my brother in his training for the marathon.
His race was a contiuned inspiration to me and after sadly losing my Great aunt and more recently my lovely Nan this year i was more determined than ever to run in the memory of them.
Again i failed in the ballot for 2013, but i sent off a dozen applications, and after not gaining a charity place i took a chance of being a reserve knowing i could get a surprise call one day. That surprise call came on the 4th December and now just over 4 months to the hardest and physically demanding race there is.
My Charity i am running for and raising money for is Multiple Sclerosis, but i could be running for any charity as they all are for the common cause of helping to raise money to potentially save lives, and to provide a bit of hope that the people we ALL have lost in our lives were not lost in vain.
So even if you give me £1 , £10 or £100 rest assured i will drag my skinny lanky body to that finishing line. Your money will not be wasted.
