I'm a retinal surgeon and I know how important research is in finding and improving new treatments for blindness. One in five people will have a serious sight condition in their life time. Sight loss doesn’t care who you are or where you are from; anyone can be affected.I'm fundraising for Fight for Sight to help fund ground-breaking research into sight loss. Our current treatments are limited by repetitive uncomfortable injections. I personally know many of the clinical researchers making new breakthroughs using newer drugs, newer delivery with drops, gene therapy and artificial intelligence. The fight against sight loss is on the cusp of many breakthroughs...but we urgently need the funding to get there.
