Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Daphne McKenna was a truly remarkable woman; a wonderful mother, partner, daughter, sister and social worker. She was the love of our lives,  fearless in defence of what is right and, throughout her adult life, tireless in her commitment to safeguarding children. Daphne was wonderful and irreplaceable. In her name, and for her legacy we are seeking donations to the Damilola Taylor Trust, a charity which reflects her passion for the lives and potential of vulnerable children and young people, and one through which we can see Daphne's life's work continuing as a force for good in this world.

Damilola Taylor was stabbed to death in South London in the year 2000, at the age of just 10 years old. The trust set up in his name offers a careers pathway to underprivileged young people, providing them with the chance to live lives free from fear and violence, and helping them grasp opportunities for a happy and successful future. This is what Daphne dedicated her life to.
