Bogumila (Bohdanka, Danni) Madylus (née Domaradz)

We witnessed our dear mother battle breast cancer for 8 years.  At times, it was an extremely difficult journey both physically and emotionally but we are eternally grateful to the trials which were made available to her and helped to prolong her life.

Words cannot begin to express how much you were loved and how much you will be desperately missed.  You fought so bravely, for so long right up until your passing which was peaceful, surrounded by loved ones.  Courageous in the face of adversity, always so strong and graceful with an unparalleled zest for life.  

On New Year’s Eve of 2011, Mama was involved in a horrendous car accident. She passed out whilst driving due to pneumonia and crashed into the back of a bus.  Incredibly, nobody was seriously injured.  Mama sustained some deep bruising to the left side of her chest, which sadly developed into breast cancer the following year.  Thus began eight years of intermittent hospital appointments, biopsies, surgery and treatment.  She very rarely complained of the pain and discomfort and whenever one type of treatment ceased to be effective, she would always ask, “OK, what next?”  I guess we all took it for granted that she would overcome her latest battle, as she had done with all the other curve balls the universe had thrown her way, refusing to allow cancer to define her.  She never, ever gave up hope.

You leave behind a great legacy of strong minded, feisty, educated, independent women who will forever cherish the unconditional love and warmth which you enveloped us in everyday of our lives.  A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and boss (Blackfriars Bakery, Crustys Coffee Shop and Restaurant).  Our forever glamorous Queen B.
