We initially decided to take part as this day is the 47th anniversary of my mam / grandmothers death after battling cancer. 

Unfortunately cancer has once again started a battle with members of our family. Some just beginning treatment, some finishing treatment and some we’ve lost and others now lucky enough to be classed as cancer free. 

This is a disease that effects so many people and families, taking a huge toll on everyone it touches. 

The support of MacMillan nurses to families is immeasurable 

£52 helps run a large MacMillan information and support centre for 1hr helping people affected by cancer to find info and support 

£111 pays for a MacMillan nurse for half a day providing essential medical and emotional support. 

So, we are hiking the Northumberland coast from Alnwick to Bamburgh a total of 26.2 miles in order to raise some money for this worthy cause!
