Story
I've run the Race for Life 2 years in a row, now I feel like a bigger challenge to raise money for a charity that means so much to me, so this year I'm running the Great North Run.
In this day in age, I don't think it's fair that so many families lose loved ones to such a common illness. I believe we should be doing everything we can to prevent this from happening. Both my Grandmothers have had battles with cancer. Thankfully, with such quick treatment, my Granny managed to recover from it. However, my Grandma wasn't so lucky, and I still miss her with every day that passes.
And of course, everyone else I know who has had/is having their fight with cancer, this is for you as well. So this is why i've decided 5km isn't enough, I'm going for 13.1 miles (21km) instead. Please, please, please give whatever you can afford, it will all be greatly appreciated!
As I didn't make it in through the ballot stage, I had to go directly through Cancer Research, and so I've had to pledge to raise at least £400. However, with all you generous people out there, I'm sure this won't be a problem!
Oh, and of course anyone is welcome to come and laugh at me on the day!
