Story

By Daniel’s Mummy:

On the 10th June 1992 when I was just 7 years old, I lost my lovely Gran to pancreatic cancer. She was 59 years old.

It will be 28 years this June since we said goodbye.

Gran was my mum’s mum.

She was full of fun and loved to spend time with us - she was taken too soon.

It’s now 2020, we’re in the middle of a pandemic and the UK is locked down, we can’t visit our friends and family - we miss them, but we are staying safe at home. Myself, my husband Ben, our 7 year old son Daniel and our cheeky 2 year old Poppy are safe at home together.

Many families will not be able to visit their loved ones who are going through the battle that is Pancreatic cancer.

So in this time of uncertainty, our 7 year old son is going to take part in a personal challenge, raising a little bit of money for Pancreatic Cancer Action and spreading a lot of joy, by challenging himself to read 20 books to his nana (my mum) via FaceTime by June 10th 2020 as part of the 20 for 2020 challenge!

In this time of negativity, we’re doing something to spread a little positivity!

I will post daily updates as he completes his books.

So finally, if you can spare a £1 or £2 to make a donation to the fantastic charity that is Pancreatic Cancer Action we would be super grateful! Thank you! xxxx
