Story
Two and a half years ago I didn't run ... In that time I have run half marathons, marathons and ultra marathons (50km & 100km) testing myself mentally and physically along the way. In that time I have discovered that the mind is a powerful tool, and when you change your mindset anything is possible.
Which leads me to now, my toughest challenge to date! I will be running the London 2024 marathon representing Diabetes UK attempting to beat a Guinness world record for 'The fastest marathon carrying a household appliance (white goods) which currently sits at 4 hr 52 min 10 seconds.' The current record was set in last years London marathon with a fridge weighing 26.5kgs, and I intend on doing the same!
Why am I doing this? My best mate has diabetes and I want to raise lots of money for a great charity and do my bit to ensure they can carry on with their great work.
To sum up... I have 4 months to train and get fit to run 26.2 miles with a fridge on my back in less than 4 hours 52 minutes and 10 seconds in London taking part in the biggest marathon on the planet ... What could possibly go wrong I hear you say !?
If you can donate anything towards my fundraising for Diabetes UK, it will make such a difference to an amazing charity... and will make me feel better when I'm 20 miles into the marathon and slowly getting crushed by a fridge. Please please dig deep people and help make a difference!
