Story
I've not run properly for about 20 years - one of the last times I tried it, I tore my hamstring in a kickabout on a rugby pitch (see photo evidence in this gallery of those with me sniggering as I limped off..!). But over the last 12 months I have started again, going slowly and rediscovering the "joy of jogging" - or at least the physical and mental release it brings in lockdown. This weekend I was supposed to be doing an Ironman to raise money for Resurgo, but Covid means the bar has been lowered... so instead, I will be running 20K on my own next Monday October 12th as part of Resurgo's Go the Distance challenge, and hoping you will sponsor me to support a wonderful charity, which is doing remarkable things for young people - in such difficult times for them in particular.
Resurgo have now supported more than 6,500 young people to find and sustain work through the award-winning Spear Programme; they've got a strong track record. But with predictions now being made that by 2021 more than a million young people will be unemployed* the need for our work is greater than ever.Support us as we Go the Distance and support even more young people into employment or education.
