Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September I'll be flying to Tanzania, Africa with a group of friends from Imperial College London RAG. The aim of the trip is to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing peak in the world!! For comparison the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, stands at 829m, whereas Kili peaks at a whopping 5,895m!
Before the trip I'm trying to raise a MINIMUM of £2650.00 for Meningitis Research Foundation. To do this I’m open to suggestions and humiliation (danmoxhamkili@groups.facebook.com), and currently have the following ideas:
· HEAD SHAVE
· CAKE SALE
· MUFFIN EATING CHALLENGE
To decide on these I’ll post a vote on my facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/danmoxhamkili/), and I’ll add suggestions if they’re realistic and achievable ideas that will get people interested!
As I said, the charity I’ve chosen is Meningitis Research Foundation. In case you’re wondering why I’m supporting them, please visit www.meningitis.org and find the ‘Book of Experience’. Here you will find stories of people’s experiences of coping with meningitis and the struggles it entails. They are truly touching and it is a real eye opener to see the broad range of people which this terrible disease can affect.
