Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have stood at the start line for the London Marathon for the last two years and followed it's progress through the streets of London, like so many people I have been inspired and emotional about the massive achievement of those (slightly mad) people who put themselves through this. Each year I have said I will "do it next year".................oh crikey, looks like my year has come!

I'm starting to learn what a huge undertaking this will be, yes it's inspiring seeing people run it on the day but what you haven't seen are the hundreds of miles run in training, early morning in the freezing cold, late at night in the pouring rain, every day your next training run is being planned in your head whilst you eat yet another bowl of pasta. 

I have chosen Cancer Research as my charity and my place is a "Golden Bond" entry. This means I have undertaken to raise at least £2,000 so please dig deep.

Throughout the average lifetime, and possibly your own, nearly all of us will be touched by Cancer in one way or another, be it ourselves, a loved one, a friend or a colleague - in fact 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer in our lifetimes. The good news is that, thanks largely to Cancer Research's work, the chance of surviving this disease is now better than ever but there is still far more work to be done and that work costs money - that's where you and I come in.

Please give what you can and it would be great to see you on the sidelines shouting encouragement to help get me through the 26.2 miles (I try not to say that out loud, 26.2 miles - heck that is a long, long way.........)
