Story
I only started running long distances in early 2016 and recently completed the Brighton Marathon fuelled by a desire to stay healthy and not to be defeated by a rare blood clotting disorder which could have been fatal. I would now like to focus my efforts to help another charity which is close to my heart, Hearing Link.
My Dad's side of the family have a history of deafness and acute hearing loss. I have to be very careful in noisy environments and as a musician in my spare time I wear hearing protection at concerts and in nightclubs as a precaution because I know the risks. Hearing Link is a small but leading UK charity supporting people with hearing loss, their families and friends. They help people adjust to the emotional and practical challenges that hearing loss can bring - offering shared experiences, practical support and guidance so that people can reconnect and face the future with confidence.
Running in such a prestigious event as the London Marathon for the first time will be an extremely emotional and proud moment for me and to be able to continue with my running to raise money for such a worthy cause makes it even more worthwhile. Please if you could donate whatever you can it will be greatly appreciated - even the small amounts soon add up to big things and I have a very big target to achieve to help this charity.
Thank you
