On July 10, I am running 10k for the Whitechapel Mission. I volunteer on the Life Skills project at the organisation, which provides assistance with many of the problems generated by homelessness. This could be anything from referring people to night shelters to setting up debt repayment plans.
Even more essential is the other work done by staff and volunteers - the massive number of breakfasts served daily and the sorting and distribution of donated clothes.
Those who know me will understand that in life I love three things above all others: sleep, tv and comfortable pyjamas. I have found something I'm willing to put these passions on hold for, and that's saying something.
The Mission takes no government funding and relies completely on donations - if you can spare anything, the staff, volunteers and all those who benefit from the Mission's work would be incredibly grateful.
