Story
As many of you know, in May this year we lost an incredibly special member of our family, my mother in law, Sylvia. After an extremely tough battle with a rare and aggressive form of Ovarian Cancer Sylvia passed away at home surrounded by her close family. She was one of the most kind, nurturing, generous and selfless people I was lucky enough to have in my life. A devoted wife to Steve and an exemplary mum to Niki, Em, Gav and I. We all miss her greatly every day.
At the later stage of her battle Sylvia was having palliative care by Sue Ryder, a phenomenal charity. Susie, Sylvia's nurse, visited her at home and helped her cope with any pain she was in, whilst giving us all comfort and support wherever she could. We are extremely grateful for the kind and compassionate care we received from Susie and Sue Ryder. It is, therefore, an honour to be running the London marathon next year in memory of Sylvia and in order to raise money for Sue Ryder so they can continue to do the amazing job that they do. I am under no illusion that this will be a huge challenge as I am not a keen runner, however Sylvia's humble bravery will be strong motivation to get to the finish.
Thank you all for your generosity and support, our family is very grateful.
