Dan is walking from London to Birmingham along the Grand Union canal

Walking London-Brum on the canal · 29 May 2020
Hi, I'm Dan, you probably know me since you're here. If not, hello, glad you took the time to check this out! You may or may not know that just lately I've took to longer distance walking (mainly canals) and climbing the odd mountain (hill). So I thought I'd push myself a bit further and do some good with it all.
My mom suffered a SCAD Heart Attack a few years back, the NHS (New Cross were fantastic) and the charity Action Heart (Russells Hall) have helped her and many others with heart problems, loads. Action Heart offer support, guidance, friendship, and most importantly rehab with the use of their fantastic gym. Action Heart need funding, it's a registered charity and they do a great job. If I could help them even with something small, it could effect lives in a big way.
The plan:
Originally planned for Friday 29th May (postponed due to Covid-19) but now taking place from Monday 5th October for seven days.
Me, my walking boots and a load of camping equipment and essential items, jump on a train to London where I'll join the Grand Union canal at its starting point Brentford Docks by the River Thames. I'll walk all the way back to the end of the route in Birmingham, which is 137 miles. The walking route for it however is slightly more. Covering 20ish miles a day for seven days. I'll be camping or staying in airbnb's along the way staying as close to the canal as possible. I'll fund all costs on accomodation of course, meaning every penny donated will go to Action Heart.
Now I know some folks haven't got a lot at all to donate, I mean absolutely please do if you can but even if you can help by sharing something on social media or telling a friend, that would be great.
I was originally using GoFundMe but JustGiving allow for smaller donations (£2) rather than GoFundMe's minimum of £5.
A BIG THANKS for your help!
