Story
I am running The Virtual London Marathon, in Memory of My Father in Law Peter Stockwell.
He only got to visit St Luke’s a few times, but the time he spent there he loved. It gave him something to look forward to each week.
My wife and mother in law are auctioning off knitting each week and any money raised from that will be added to this total.
This was a 50th birthday present from my wife, as I said I wanted to achieve this marathon in my 50th year.
After only taking up running five years ago it is a huge achievement for me and I am privileged to be doing it for such an amazing Charity.
Thank you in advance Everyone,
Dan
The London Marathon organisers recently announced that this year alongside the live marathon they are now launching 50,000 places for a virtual event. As a charity, we have been successful in securing places in the Virtual London Marathon this year, taking place on 3rd October 2021Whilst a virtual run enables you to run the route you choose, we would love to build a team of St Lukes runners, plan our own marathon route and try to recreate a mini version of the day with supporters on route cheering you on (subject to any government guidelines). We know this kind of support can be a godsend to help your get through a mammoth run like this. This wouldnt be compulsory but we love the idea and hope you do too. Once we have our team together we can discuss and plan this, a little more (subject to insurers!)Will you join us?
