About me and why
I have always been a cat lover. Me and my partner Tara are the proud owners of 4 cats (called Missy, Bonzo, Britney and Cherry) and our home would feel empty without them.
In October 2015 I broke my ankle quite severely in an accident and I spent a lot of time at home (4 months) in pain unable to do much with just the cats for company when friends and family were not available to help out.
Missy (black and white in the pictures) was always by my side or on my lap to keep me going. When I was on crutches she even came on walks with me until I recovered and I will always be grateful to her for that. We already had a close bond but this bought us even closer together.
I decided to take part in the challenge to improve my fitness as I'm still unable to run or do high impact exercises so walking is the next best thing and I get to raise some much needed money for my local Cats Protection branch in Horsham.
For every donation made my employer will match up to £500.
Thanks for your support.
About Cats Protection
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.
As the leading cat welfare charity they have over 6000 cats in their care at any one time. Every cat is given a health check, blood test, inoculations, microchipping and neutering where necessary, which costs them on average £150 per cat. Cats stay with them for as long as it takes to find loving new homes – they never put a healthy cat to sleep.
Cats Protection has simple and clear objectives to help cats:
Homing - Finding good homes for cats in need
Neutering - Supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
Information - Improving people’s understanding of cats and their care
Achieving this vision is only made possible due to kind cat lovers who support our work.
