Story
Fibromyalgia is one of the most common chronic pain conditions with approximately 1.5 - 2 million people in the UK suffering from the condition. It's a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue that tends to feel like an aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others and may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most. Additional symptoms often include: unrefreshing sleep, headaches, irritable bowel, cognitive disturbances, clumsiness, and dizziness.
Having seen the effects of Fibromyalgia first-hand; as my Mum has lived with the condition for the last 10 years, I know how draining it can be for someone suffering with the illness. By running the Brighton Marathon this year I hope to raise awareness whilst stepping up to my biggest running challenge yet!
Any donation, large or small is greatly appreciated!
