Brighton Marathon 2018 · 15 April 2018 ·

We aim to give our young adults the opportunity to do things they otherwise wouldn't have the chance to do. We hope to be able to provide funding for those who are unable to raise the £400 themselves.

Story

In 2018 ESTEEM have 4 staff donating their time and skills so that ten 14-26 year old's can have an amazing opportunity to hike 90km in 5 days across mountainous terrain in the French Pyrenees. This is a real challenge that our charity runs every year to raise awareness and enable people who would not normally have the chance to experience breathtaking views, beautiful nature and push their own limits. It's a time for people to get out of the stress of their everyday situation, have time to think clearly,  talk through things with the team and feel fit and healthy. We have made sure this hike happens every year for 8 years, because we know how great the benefits are to all those who take part.

Last year however, ESTEEM ran this hike at a significant loss because we felt it was important not to let people down, despite not having enough funds to cover the costs of the youth workers and the support driver. This year we also have a Mountain Leader (Damian) to raise funds for, as well as two project workers and a support driver. We are all working for free but we need your help to cover costs (£400 per person). If we don't get our costs covered then we won't be able to run the hike this year, so please give generously - it means a great deal to the young adults who are working hard to raise their £400 to take part.
