Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Greater Manchester Marathon in memory of my late Grandfather, John Cullinan who sadly passed away in September 2011 after suffering with dementia for several years. Dementia is caused by symptoms that occur when the brain is affected by specific diseases and conditions. Symptoms of dementia include loss of memory, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. This disease is extremely stressful and painful for the sufferer and their family and approximtely 820,000 people have dementia in the UK. Dementia UK promotes and develops Admiral Nursing which is a specialist nursing intervention focused on meeting the needs of carers and families of people with dementia. So please help me support this worthwhile cause by donating some money.
