Story

So here goes!! I'm new to running but have decided to challenge myself by taking part in the Spartan Race and use this opportunity to support a charity that means a great deal to my family.

As you may know, my wife, Jen was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease in 2012 and since then her life and our family life has changed quite dramatically. Meniere's disease is a long term, progressive disease which affects balance and hearing. Symptoms of this condition include acute attacks of vertigo (severe dizziness), tinnitus, deafness and pain. Sadly there is currently no cure for this condition.

The Meniere's Society is a charity that funds research into treatments for the disease. It also provides practical and emotional support to it's members and educates the wider population about this condition as well as other balance problems.

The Spartan Race is 13km (!) with 20 obstacles to overcome (!!!!!!!). It will definitely be a test but I hope also that it will be great fun. If you could lend your support Jen and I would be very grateful. Wish me luck!
