I am going to be taking on Challenge Everest in Manchester with my fellow volunteers on the 24th March 2022!

I am doing this to raise money for the charity Support through Court.

I have chosen to raise money for Support Through Court because they provide practical and emotional support for people facing court alone. It is a charity that is now a vital part of our justice system as a result of the severe cuts to legal aid, which means that people who cannot afford to pay expensive fees for a lawyer now have no support in the court system. It offers assistance in times of great stress, for example when people are facing eviction, divorce or deportation.

Furthermore, many of the people they help are particularly vulnerable, with 23% speaking English as a second language, 23% having a serious health problem, 54% not in employment, some being homeless and having literacy issues. As a charity their running costs depend on much-needed donations, therefore any amount you could provide would be amazing: helping to improve access to justice.
