Story
Hi I’m Daisy Fermor, a gorilla keeper at Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Next year I will be hiking Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for the Aspinall Foundations overseas gorilla projects, a cause that desperately needs help, with Western Lowland gorilla populations declining rapidly (60% over the last 20-25 years).
The Aspinall Foundation has projects in Congo and Gabon to help save the declining numbers of Western Lowland gorillas. They have orphanages to rescue and rehabilitate baby gorillas left behind as a result of the pet trade or the bush meat, since 1989 when this project was founded they have rescued over 100 gorillas. These orphans have then been released into the protected land that the Aspinall Foundation owns and monitors. Keeping not just gorillas safe, but many native species. In addition to this, in 2008 a wildlife law enforcement organisation named PALF was part funded by the Aspinall Foundation to tackle the bush meat trade which is drastically effecting wild gorilla numbers.
Any donations would be hugely appreciated!
