I am a civil engineer and for some time now wanted to use my skills, time and energy into something rewarding and worthwhile - like helping the helpless!

I am therefore embarking on a trip with the cahrity, Mission Direct, to help build basic and habitable homes for Haitians living in slums in sugar cane fileds in the Dominican Republic (DR) where they earn less than 60p-a-day. I will also be helping to distribute food and medicines and visiting schools and hospitals in the community of Sosua in the DR.

Each house costs US$3500 to build which is equivalent to just £1700!

Your contibution will help to pay for materials and supplies to enable the main project of construction and refurbishment to progress, and bring much happiness and relief to many people.
