Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page.
On November 7, 2012, more than 1,000 staff and students at De Montfort University gathered together to sing and dance along to Bonnie Tyler’s classic song Holding Out For a Hero.
On the same day, a cast of special guests, including Leicestershire Police, Leicester Tigers rugby players, Leicestershire County Cricket Club players, a three-year-old Superman, and a knight on a trusty steed, took on roles to help us act out all the verses.
It is a brilliant tribute to the DMU community, who gave up their time to work together and raise more than £3,500 for Leicestershire hospice LOROS and local prostate cancer charity PROSTaid - while having a lot of fun in the process.
We now want the video to go far and wide, showing how creative DMU can be when it comes to helping the community while encouraging more and more people to give to two charities which so many people hold close to their hearts.
So please pass the video link on to your friends and family and post it on Twitter and Facebook if you can. At the same time please make a donation on this page to LOROS and PROSTaid.
The video came about after I was asked to take part in the Executive Quest Challenge|. The challenge requires chief executives in Leicestershire to do something extraordinary for charity that pushes them out of their comfort zone. I wanted to do something that would be great fun, as well as a really memorable experience, for students and staff and the people of Leicestershire.
Enjoy the video, make a donation and remember to pass the You Tube link onto everyone you know.
