Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After the excitement of doing the Glasgow half marathon and raising over £4k for 'Help for Heroes' I have decided to raise the bar and go for the full marathon! The Edinburgh marathon now beckons at 26.2 miles on the 27th May 2012. The training as started and now on an intense programme to get me ready for the big day. It has been a long-time ambition of mine to do a marathon so after a few beers at Christmas with Andy Thomson we both took the plunge and entered. After getting over that barrier it was an easy decision to raise money for charity. After my wife's cousin died of a stroke this time last year (at the same age as us) and also a golfing friend of mine, Tom O'Neil, suffered a stroke (I think it was the thought of having to go on tour with me, Mark, Scooter, Keef and Kevin which brought it on for Tom). Thankfully he is on the road to recovery (despite what Mark says!)
So it was clear that I had to try and do something for this great charity. So many of us know people who have suffered from this so if we can help in any small way then please donate as much or as little as you can afford. My pain on the day will make it all the more worthwhile!
