Story
London Marathon – raising money for Muscular Dystrophy.
The impossible dream has come true.
For those who have known me for some time, you will remember my teenage years were difficult for me, struggling to walk any distance without pain. I was eventually diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and awarded mobility component of what was then Disability Living Allowance. Future prognosis was not good, whilst watching the London Marathon on TV the possibility of participating was an impossible dream.
Very fortunately I pulled a muscle in my leg exercising try to defy the muscle wastage, the treatment I received for this was life changing. My health condition improved beyond belief, my confidence grew, and I kissed goodbye to Mobility Allowance. I eventually got confirmation of a misdiagnosis.
For those who know me now, maybe this will explain why I never shut up talking about running.
Well 10 marathons later I have got into the London Marathon, excitement and emotions pumping through my body.
