One year ago on November 1st, I lost my brother to complications relating to lifelong drug addiction. Although Movember was created to help male cancer charities, the fact that the start date coincides with my brother's death anniversary and also Addiction Awareness Week, I wanted to do something that will support addicts and their families through the Forward Trust, which is a British charity that helps people with drug and alcohol dependence. I wouldn't wish what my family has been through on anybody, and if making myself look utterly ridiculous means that money raised has gone towards turning just one addict's life around, then it will have been more than worth it.
