Story
I am donating my hair in loving memory of a beautiful girl named Sophie. Sophie was in my daughter's Preschool class. Sophie was only at school for a short period of time but in that time she was able to touch the hearts of everyone in her classroom.
Sophie was a very special girl always smiling! I remember the first day Sophie came to school. The school had sent out an email letting us know a new friend would be joining the class who was struggling with cancer and currently doesn't have hair so that our kids should try be extra sensitive. That day my daughter came home after school and with the biggest smile on her face she said "Mommy I have a new friend! her name is Sophie! And she is BEAUTIFUL! "
When Sophie stopped coming into school as often Avigail would ask me if Sophie was okay. When Sophie came to school Avigail would come home thrilled and share the news with me. "Guess what mommy! Sophie came to school today! Shes feeling better!!"
Sophie went up to Hashem 7/10/2019.
When I shared the news with my Avigail that Sophie had gone to shamayim to be with Hashem and her Zaidy, Avigail broke down in tears and said, "but shes just a kid mommy".
After the funeral I felt helpless and beyond broken for Sophie's beautiful parents and family. I still do. I think about them and little Sophie all the time. I can't do anything.
I decided to donate my hair. It's not going to help her family but hopefully it can help make someone else who is suffering feel beautiful.
It was just Sophie's first yahrzeit and its no coincidence my hair is long enough to donate now.
Please consider donating to this beautiful organization Zichron Menachem for the memory of our beautiful, Sophie.
