Story
In light of recent events I decided to fundraise for my London to Brighton cycle in honour of all girls and women affected by male violence.
2 women a week are murdered by a current or former partner in the UK, and nearly 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. The high-profile cases of women like Sabina Nessa and Sarah Everard are heart-breakingly tragic and terrifying, but we shouldn't forget that sadly such violence is not rare, and happens behind closed doors to many women and girls on an almost daily basis in the UK. Male violence affects the world that all women and girls have to live in.
I'd ask everyone to please donate as much or as little as they would like to nia to support us. nia provides vital frontline services to help women and girls who are experiencing sexual or domestic violence. Their important works helps women and girls escape violent homes or relationships and helps them rebuild their lives. This Sunday, please consider donating even just what you would spend on a coffee or a pint - any amount is appreciated. Thank you!
