Story
The Seventh Ladies' Tractor Road Run 2011
As some of you know, Ben and I brought back a rather unusual souvenir from our summer holidays in Holland last year: an old farm tractor. I had spotted it for sale near our campsite and had promised Ben that if he bought the tractor and did her up, I'd take part in the ladies' road run that is held in his village every summer. Never one to shy away from a tractor challenge, Ben spent the winter getting black and oily, while the tractor became shinier and better looking all the time. We took her out on her first outing at Easter for the National Vintage Tractor Road Run and very much enjoyed ourselves. For the ladies' road run however, I'm going to have to drive 20 miles without Ben on the mudguard to help me along. Well, me and about 90 other ladies. All of us will have a good reason to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and in my case it is Ben's mum, who sadly died of breast cancer shortly before I met Ben, and my mum who recovered after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2.5 years ago.
Cancer Research UK is close to both our hearts, so please dig deep and donate now. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
