Imagine growing up as a child knowing that your different. You look different, you learn different, and you behave different.
VCFS (Velo Cardial Facial Syndrome) has over 180 different symptoms, and a child (or adult) with the syndrome can have many of them, from learning difficulties to serious heart defects.
My niece has VCFS, meaning her life is that little bit different to normal. Thankfully she is a happy, healthy girl, but she gets some amazing support and experiences from the Max Appeal, who work tirelessly to support those that struggle with the condition.
To thank them for their support, me and Laura's (step) Dad, Mark, will be embarking on a 2,000 mile round trip in a car worth less than £500.
Yes, it's a once in a lifetime experience and a jolly, which is why it is entirely self funded, meaning every penny you donate goes to the Max Appeal.
We are hoping to raise £2,000, that's roughly £1 per mile. Hardly anything when you consider it.
So please do donate, dig deep and throw a few quid at a worthy charity. You could also consider sponsoring space on the car - we are looking at £50 per square foot, so perhaps a funny present for someone to have their face plastered all over the car?!
Thank you.
