Crook Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and Community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
Locally projects Crook Salvation Army Church is involved with includes: The Victory Programme - A free, six-week course inspired by wartime economising. Here guests learn how to budget their money and cook tasty meals on a budget, while having fun and making new friends.
Crook SA has recently commenced a Debt Advice Service – we will offer free, confidential & impartial debt advice to those to whom money is a worry and are seeking help.
We work in partnership with Durham Food Bank to provide emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Any support you can give to support our work in the local community will be very much appreciated.
